manufacturing textiles in general-cotton, synthetics, denim, hosiery,
woolen, RMG etc and allied chemical industries like dye-stuff,
dye-intermediate, pharmaceuticals, bulk drug and formulations, pesticides,
agrochemicals, food products, sugar, and other chemical
industries. |

R&D
Projects for evolving novel, cost-effective, user friendly technologies
for air, water and solid waste treatment to suit the needs of Indian
industry; |

Sampling
(Legal) and testing services for relevant parameters of water and
wastewater, air pollutants in ambient air as well as chimney and process
vent gases; and solid hazardous wastes. |

Other
knowledge dissemination activities like training programmes, seminars,
conferences, workshops and publications pertaining to the environmental
pollution control in textiles and allied fields |

Center
for Environmental Counseling and Information (CECI) has been set up with
U.S.A.I.D. which caters to the needs of industry as far as awareness about
the latest developments in the area of Environmental Engineering is

| Recognition of EED’s Scientists | ||
|
EED - Departmental Head has been nominated in several committees of Bureau of Indian Standards and Central Pollution Control Boards related to environmental pollution control and eco-friendly chemicals. Similarly, he has been nominated as an International Expert in the field of Textile Pollution Control by UNIDO. He also continued its extensive interactions with various prestigious academic institutions like NIRMA, IITs, UDCT, Narsinh Monji Institute-Mumbai, Gujarat University, M.S. University, S.P. University and so on within the country and similar institutions abroad (INP Grenoble, ENSEEG – France) for familiarizing himself and other colleagues with the latest developments in the field of pollution control. EED also maintains close interactions with some of the renowned R&D institutions of the world working in the frontal areas of pollution control in order to learn the latest advances in this field. Hon’ble High Court of Gujarat has nominated ATIRA - EED as an Environmental Auditor for Schedule-I industries of Gujarat. ATIRA has to assess the efficacy and efficiency of Environment Management System of client industrial units. ATIRA’s reports are viewed with due weightage in the Hon’ble High Court of Gujarat. As a part of this activity, Gujarat Pollution Control Board used to send the effluent samples to ATIRA for third party neutral analysis. The reports of such analysis were sent to Hon’ble High Court of Gujarat and Gujarat Pollution Control Board. |

As far as sampling for legal compliance is concerned, it is mandatory that ATIRA team personally visit the industry to collect appropriate sample, preserve the same while taking to laboratory for analysis. Such services are provided to client industry on charge basis.
